What a name reservation does.
We check the name against the ASIC register and identical-name rules, lodge the reservation application, and confirm the reservation period. The reservation can be extended in some circumstances.
A reservation is not ownership of a brand. If the name is going to carry your marketing, we will also tell you whether a trade mark search or application is worth doing before you commit.
Reserving a name does not stop someone registering a similar trade mark. Reservation and brand protection are different exercises.
