Company services

Company search.

An ASIC extract tells you who owns and controls a company, what has been lodged and when, and whether anything is amiss. The search takes minutes; knowing what it means is the valuable part.

Lawyer prepared

Documents prepared and reviewed by a Victorian commercial lawyer.

Fast turnaround

Most registrations and deeds turned around same day or next business day.

Fixed fee, quoted first

Fixed fee quoted before we start, ASIC fees itemised separately.

Compliant documents

Corporations Act 2001 and ASIC compliant documentation.

What we search and what we tell you.

We obtain current and historical company extracts, personal name extracts for directors, business name records and PPSR searches over company assets, and check for external administration and deregistration history.

We then talk you through it in plain English: who controls the entity, what changed and when, what is not adding up, and what to ask about before you contract or lend.

The ASIC register reflects what has been lodged, not necessarily what is true. Discrepancies between the register and the company's own records matter.

Why it pays to have this done properly.

Know who you are dealing with

Directors, shareholders, ultimate holding company and prior officeholders confirmed before you sign.

Red flags surfaced

Recent officeholder changes, deregistration history, strike-off action and external administration all show up in the history.

Security interests checked

A PPSR search shows what is already encumbered before you take security or buy assets.

Is this you?.

  • You are about to contract with an unfamiliar company
  • You are buying a business or shares and need the entity checked
  • You are extending credit or taking security
  • You need historical ownership evidence for a dispute

If any of these sound familiar, a short conversation will tell you whether this is the right document, and what it costs, before you commit.

How it works.

  1. 01

    Tell us what you need

Start online or call us. We take short instructions, names, roles, structure and timing, and confirm this is the right document for what you are actually trying to achieve.

  2. 02

    We check the detail

We confirm eligibility, consents, existing documents and any tax or duty consequence before drafting, so nothing is discovered after lodgement.

  3. 03

    We prepare and lodge

We draft the searches and a plain-English rundown, send it for signing with clear instructions on who signs what and when, and attend to any ASIC, State Revenue Office or ATO lodgement.

  4. 04

    You get a complete file

You receive executed documents, registers and confirmations in a single organised pack, plus a short note on what to keep and what happens next.

Fees.

Fixed fee per entity including current and historical extracts and a plain-English rundown. PPSR and personal name searches are itemised at cost.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions.

What is the difference between a current and historical extract?
A current extract shows the position today. A historical extract shows every change lodged, including former officeholders and shareholders.
Can you search a business name or trust?
Yes. Business names are searchable through ASIC, and trusts can be traced through the trustee entity and PPSR.
How fast can you do it?
Usually within the hour for the searches, and same day for the rundown.
